So did not have my internship today so I took the opportunity to explore. I visited the 9/11 memorial site which was incredibly powerful. Then I walked around the financial district and walked down to battery park. I also visited the national museum of the American Indian. So overall a very good day. During the weekend I visited China Town and saw the end of the New Years festival.
So I have an internship for the next summer. I will be working on Mackinac island as an exhibit intern traveling around between the different parks.
So week one down and all is well. I have gone to both my internships and been worked hard. Making large plywood boxes, silk flowers and clay slabs. It is nice to know where I am going and not have to think and plan as much on the subway lines. Today’s goals are explore more, go buy more food. Oh and it snowed yesterday so now I can see the city covered in white.
So we will see how long this whole blog thing lasts but I figure I will start strong. I have arrived in New York today and all is well. I start my internships on Wednesday after orientation stuff. For those of you who dont know the two artists I am working with are Diana Al-hadid and Anne Chu, websites below. Tomorrow is going to be devoted exploring.
